Eberron Story

This session didn't last long, yet I feel we got pretty far. After we fought in the arena, both me and Ariana winning and losing one of each of our matches, we came back to the inn in town with a few extra Silvers, while my manager somehow came back with a couple gold (That bastard). We skip forward to that night and while we are lounging in the Inn, we suddenly hear a commotion.

I grab my hammer and head out to investigate (Being the good Player I am). The rest follow suit and we discover a young child of 15 being abused by the local authority. We investigate and they tell us he is a known thief and is wanted in regards to an amulet that was stolen. We can tell the kid is innocent and decide to escort him to the cells to keep him safe while we find the proof. Because it is so late, we have to wait until the morning to see him. Everyone heads home except for Brick and Marina...and I think Dae was sneaking around somewhere; It's so hard to tell because he just blends into the dark. My character has no need to eat or sleep, and so he stays all night to make sure no one messes with the kid. In the morning the party meets up to talk with him. We discover his name is Jimmy and he was asked by this girl Melinda to appraise the amulet. We ask him if there is anyone else who might have been interested and he tells us about Lenny the Snitch and Mikey the Whip (Apparently the inhabitants of Adderport are all Italian Mobsters). Dae decides to talk to Lenny while the rest of us talk to Melinda. She tells us that she knows something important, but she needs us to do something to prove we are trustworthy. For the past few weeks, Kobolds have been raiding their cellars and stealing their supplies, so she wants us to take care of them and return what they stole....only we all forgot the latter part of the job.

When we all meet back up at her Inn, we get ready to take care of the Kobolds. Dae learned some useful info about Mikey, specifically that we can get his attention by taking from his business (Stealing). So we decide once we get the info from Melinda, we will all deal with Mikey. So we head down to the cellar and start looking for the Kobolds or traps. Brick flips a trap and takes a measly amount of damage from a tin can bonking him on the head. We discover that the kobolds have burrowed their way under the barrels of ale, and after convincing Melinda to let us use some of her ale, we pour it down the holes, light them ale on fire and then cover the wholes to smoke out or maybe kill the Kobolds. It isn't until after we do this that our GM reminds us that we were supposed to retrieve her goods. We make up a simple story that it was all destroyed before we got there and nothing was salvageable, which was at least partly true.

We are all a little disappointed that we forgot something so specific, but then Dae turns it around for us. He talks Melinda into letting us invest in their Inn by paying for the lost merchandise and in return, we take home a percentage of their profits. She accepts without hesitation and suddenly we have a source of passive income within the game. Smart thinking on the part of the Rogue.

We ended there because our group is made up of too many old people who have to sleep at a normal time of the night, so we ended up stopping there, but all in all...It was a super fun day.

The end of Day One

Eberron Party

My second story is set in the world of Eberron. Where magic meets technology and airships are powered by monsters made up of the elements of air and fire, and trains run on tracks powered by air elementals. The story is set four years after the end of The Great War, a war that almost destroyed everyone and bore the creation of Eberron's newest race: The Warforged. This Warforged are constructs made of metal, stone, and wood. Due to their organic nature, they are not as resilient as other constructs, but they have thoughts and emotions (Even if it is hard to show them). I decided to play one such being for this story. I made him a young Warforged, having only been in the war for six years before he was decreed a free "man". He had earned the nickname "Brick" from his human companions due to his immense size and the fact that he wielded a huge hammer. He struggled to find a purpose for many years until he met Elora. She is a young artificer, class that builds machines, she was the perfect person to have on hand if he ever got too damaged as she could repair his systems. He discovered that the natural fighting talents he was born with were well suited to battling in arenas as a gladiator. He began fighting, with Elora as his agent/manager. His natural talents carried him far until he found his way in the nation of Q'Barra, in the city of Adderport. This is where our story truly begins.

My mother is also in this game, and here she is playing a Barbarian named Ariana. She came from Cyre, just like my character, and was unable to return with the whole nation suddenly "exploded" and turned into a desolate wasteland, her people gone, she sought purpose the same way "Brick" did. They fought alongside each other and sometimes against. and because of this, they formed a natural friendship. When they heard of the event in Q'barra, they both went without hesitation.

Five miles outside Adderport, we met a young Halfling named Marina who owned a lighthouse/Bed and Breakfast on the coast. It was quaint and cheap, so they got lodging there. She joined us as we set out for Addeport as she needed supplies and then was suddenly dragged into the plot with the rest of us.

The last two members of our party are made up of two new members to our group. The first is Grimsteel the dwarf Ranger who pretends to be tough because he is a dwarf, and that is how they are supposed to be..... And Daedrathrall Angora...Don't let his name fool you, he is a dangerous Drow Assassin who would probably kill you for a copper. We call him Dae or Daedrath for short.

Rise of the Runelords

This is the first game I will write about, and this is a premade adventure by Paizo. This was created before they even had their system but has been remade to fit with their rule changes. My older brother Steven is the Game Master for this game and while I have played it before, it was so long ago that I feel like I am playing it for the first time.

We begin in the city of Sandpoint in Varisia. This is a small fishing village that remains relatively peaceful, but sometimes has to deal with goblin raids. Our party is currently a bunch of strangers. We are all in town for our own reasons and just happen to have arrived in time for a celebration. Their old church was burned down with the priest inside and they finally finished building the new church and have a new priest. It appears to be another happy day in Sandpoint where the officials are giving speeches.

Suddenly we hear a scream and then another, then the sounds of hundreds of little feet marching. As they get closer, we begin to hear their songs (Which were beautifully performed by my brother in his best "Goblin" voice). The song relates their desire to burn and pillage things as well as kill dogs; because they are afraid of dogs. My oldest brother Sean sees a dog and decides he wants to keep it mere seconds before Steven reads out the passage that reveals the dog as their first victim. I witness Sean's expression melt into one of true sadness. He really....REALLY...wanted his monk to have a pet. They continue marching and then all hell breaks loose. They appear to be well disciplined until they enter combat. Immediately a few are on fire, and running around like crazy. Before we can react, a group climb up on the ale table while another squad rush the fuel cart. We scramble to fight them off and I expertly throw an alchemical solution on the alcohol table, killing one goblin and igniting the fire to burn the rest. My tiefling (A human tainted by demon blood) laughs excitedly, because he truly loves flames. My mother (Yes, my mother plays this game) rushes forward and slays two goblins in a single turn while the halfling twins rush in and began tackling Goblins to the ground. Sean made his character to be very peaceful in combat and instead of slaying the Goblins, decides to Grapple with one and bind him with ropes.

The battle last for only another round and Sean bats a Goblin away with his bound prisoner. The halflings kill a Goblin and a few of our foes kill their own brethren in stupid fails. In order to preserve my limited explosives, I instead use my turn to head towards the boss. By the time I arrive the whole party is there and has now had a chance to fight him. He dies and then suddenly it is my turn and my weapons, which splash all over the place seem useless, until I remember that if I throw it behind an enemy everyone else will be out of range. I grab an acid vial and chuck it past the warchanter, it splashes all over his skin, burning it's way to the bone and our cleric finishes him off with a brutal blow.

Thus ends the first battle.

Introduction

So this is my first time ever trying a blog. I hope anyone who decides to read these stick with it, and keeps me motivated to do it. I want to talk a little bit about myself first.

I'm currently 19 years old and I live in Tacoma, Wa. I love playing D&D, particularly the Pathfinder system which is lovingly referred to as 3.75 Edition. I decided to try writing a blog about the awesome adventures my party is getting involved. I am currently planning on writing for two separate games, which I will detail in the separate blogs. Thank you, and hope you enjoy.
